Alana Dimou is a food, lifestyle and travel photographer from Sydney who learned to take photos by cataloguing her home cooking while studying Digital Media at The University of New South Wales’ College of Fine Arts.
Documenting the process of people creating things with their hands has formed a large part of her editorial work, and as such she is guided by the energy of her surrounds, deftly illustrating the nuances of the spaces she visits.
Alana’s affectionate approach of gentle observations combined with her bold and colourful style has seen her photos of plates, faces, cans, fridges and generous tablescapes commissioned by various local and international clients and publications. You can find examples of these across this portfolio.
